This bond grew during the days they spent together. This trip was the first time my dog (only 18 months old) would be alone in the house and I was nervous that it might be traumatic. Any fear dissipated after seeing pictures of the two of them during their first walk. He was having fun and getting more exercise than he did with me. Rhiannon was business like in her handling of the scheduling, outlining what was and wasn't possible and protecting time with her son which should be the priority.
